In the spring of 2003, Dan and Philipp began recording music together as For Tomorrow.
They released their first album, Images of Light, in the Fall of 2003 despite the protests of their ancient, crash-happy PC and a microphone with background noise like a passing train. At that time, For Tomorrow wove classical guitar, haunting violin solos and raspy, melancholy vocals into moving ballads.
Their second album, Saved By Beauty, was recorded early in 2004 and marked a dramatic shift in musical direction.
It mixed faster paced tracks with more traditional ballads and featured smoother vocals and a punchier, pop sound.
Forever and a Day is their latest collaboration and by far their most accomplished work. Their unique sound is best described as melancholy pop folkacapella, combining elements of three distinct musical styles.
