Well this is NOT Punk Reloaded No. 154356 - it's the story of Supercoil. Deeply inspired by the emo-punk and hardcore scene, this four-piece has set out to do their own thing. Combining string busting speed with mosh inducing staccato riffs and vocal lines ranging from melancholy to primal screams,the band is trying to define their own genre.
Originally formed in 2000, although in a different line-up, the Supercoil went through a process of redefining itself and its sound. When former singer Bernie left the band in November 2002, Phil was forced to take over lead vocals while Domas kept working out ever more complex rhythm parts. And with Gernot delving deeper into the world of freaky solos and backing vocals and Patrick greatly improving his live performance (i. e. manic jumping and moshing on stage) which of course reflected on all other members aswell - Supercoil evolved into what it is today.
