Mandy Strobel, who was born in 1949 in Ulm, was inspired by the music of the US soldiers stationed close to his home town Ulm at the age of 8. With the help of his stepfather he learned how to play the guitar.
At the age of 9, Mandy had his first public appearance in a US officers club. After that he played music in various hobby bands with young American soldiers. In the year 1985 Mandy Strobel got his first own band together „Mandy`s East-Place-Company“playing songs by Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard.
But it took him until 1994 before he found his own style that he presented on his first CD. For the second album „on the other side“ Mandy got some prominent assistance through people like Brent Moyer, Joe Sun, Becky Hobbvs and JoEl Sonnier. With the new album Mandy Strobel is „back to the roots”. He recorded songs accompanied only by his guitar in the legendary Sun-Studio.
